Default Settings for a DLSR
Here is a Check List of settings to configure before you start shooting. Exact settings are completely dependent on your situation.
On borrowed cameras settings are often changed so its worth check them through before shooting and realising your have poor quality black and white images that are all out of focus and over exposed.

For Video
1. Format (& PAL/NTSC)
When filming I predominantly use Manual settings. The main reason for this is so settings don't change mid take for example the camera searching for focus and would urge even beginners to get familiar with these settings from the start. |
For Photography
1. Select Mode
There are a few more settings that could be changed but they will not dramatically effect your image. |
